Occupational Therapy Centre
Occupational Therapy at Spandan focuses on improving fine motor skills, eye–hand coordination, cognitive abilities, sensory integration, and activities of daily living (ADL) to help children become as independent as possible.
Therapists assess the need for specialized equipment such as splints, dressing aids, wheelchairs, and bathing supports, and work closely within classroom, home, and community settings. The therapy also supports children with sensory and attention challenges, helping enhance focus, participation, and social skills.
Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy helps special children to improve movement, balance, and muscle strength. Our Physiotherapist team focuses on developing sitting, standing, walking, and daily functional skills. Therapy supports better posture, coordination, and overall physical independence.
It also helps prevent deformities and manage muscle tone. Children are encouraged to actively participate in school and play activities. Guidance is provided to parents for exercises and care at home.


Speech-Language and Communication Therapy
Communication, articulation, AAC Communication is highly important in enhancing the development of children and paving the way towards, their independence.
At Spandan, the Speech and Communication Therapy program focuses and helps the child realize his/her maximum communicative ability.
Centre for Activities of Daily Living (ADL)
As our Activities of Daily Living ADL Training Unit, we are dedicated to nurturing functional independence in every child, enabling them to perform daily activities with confidence and dignity. Through structured and compassionate training, we empower children to master essential self-care skills like eating, dressing, toilet activities.
We also actively train and guide parents to support and continue these practices at home. Our goal is to enhance each child’s quality of life and promote meaningful participation in daily life.


Sensory Garden
Spandan’s Sensory Garden, launched in November 2022, is a specially designed outdoor therapy space that stimulates the five senses—sight, sound, smell, touch, and taste—in a calm, natural environment.
Featuring tactile pathways, a sand pit, musical wall, water fountain, swings, climbers, ropeway slide, and trampoline, it supports sensory processing, motor skills, cognitive growth, and social interaction. Particularly beneficial for children with Autism, the garden helps reduce hyperactivity and stress while improving mood, attention, and overall well-being through active outdoor play.


Psychological Testing, ABA Therapy & Counselling Centre
Spandan provides developmental evaluations and behavioural support through in-house RCI-registered psychologists.
IQ assessments at admission guide class placement and individualized education planning, while periodic reviews support IEP development and smooth transitions.
Parents receive ongoing counselling and guidance to effectively understand and manage their child’s behavioural needs.
Sensory Integration Therapy
Spandan provides specialized Sensory Integration Therapy for children with ASD and sensory processing challenges through its Multi-Sensory Unit.
Structured sensory inputs combined with play-based and self-care activities help improve coordination, attention, emotional regulation, confidence, and independence. Each child receives an individualized sensory diet designed by trained therapists and supported by teachers and parents to enhance focus and daily functioning.

Physiotherapy
Mobility, balance, strength, posture At Spandan, through physical therapy, children work towards a comprehensive treatment program to maximize flexibility, strength, coordination and range of motion, to achieve functional mobility: sitting, standing, walking.
The therapists involve parents of young children and give guidelines for preventing further deformities and minimizing the effects of disability.

Independent Living and Personal Functioning therapy at Spandan focuses on developing essential self-care and daily living skills such as personal hygiene, dressing, using fasteners, and managing footwear.
Activities of Daily Living (ADL) form a core part of the program, helping children build functional independence by addressing cognitive, motor, and sensory skills in a structured and supportive manner.
